WGUK COMES TO IRELAND

On Sunday 6th March 2011 the Irish Marching Bands Association will be sponsoring a WinterGuard contest – the first in Ireland for over 10 years – at the Irish National Basketball Stadium in Tallaght Co. Dublin - www.nationalbasketballarena.ie

WinterGuard United Kingdom will be sanctioning this contest and will be providing the judging panel and the IMBA would like to extend a welcome to all UK and European Colourguards to come to Ireland and enjoy their hospitality whilst helping promote the activity to new units across the Irish Sea. 

Mark Gutteridge, WGUK Chairman, commented “I am pleased that we are able to help another country as they embark on creating their own circuit and would encourage units to seriously consider adding this date into their schedule for next season” whist IMBA Secretary Oisin Molloy added “We at IMBA are delighted to be bringing Winterguard to Ireland next spring. We have not had a winterguard show in Ireland since the 90's and this new venture with WGUK will hopefully revitalise this great activity on our side of the water. We welcome any UK units who would like to participate and we are looking forward to a strong Irish representation at the event also. We look forward to welcoming you all on 6th March”.
