About Us

The IMBA is a non profit making voluntary organisation whose primary focus is to promote and develop the calibre of marching bands and drum corps in Ireland.  We provide education and development opportunities to all our members by means of organising competitions, seminars and work shops. 

The IMBA are now certified partners with DCE (Drum Corps Europe). We currently have 12 members bands in Ireland, with a collective membership of over 1,000 young performers. 

In 2011 the IMBA host a total of 6 events - WinterGuard in March, 4 Summer Shows & I&E Contest in November.

 

Aims of the Association

- To promote the growth, prestige and calibre of marching bands and drum corps in Ireland 

- To Provide an information service to all our members

- To create a forum for members' viewpoints and encourage friendly co-operation among those engaged in the activities of banding and Youth Bands in particular.

- To coordinate, organise and to standardise rules for running contests under the auspices of the IMBA.
